FAQ
Do you accept insurance?
Driftless Health is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
What does cash-pay mean?
Patients pay directly for services at the time of care. This allows for transparent pricing, longer visits, and a care model less restricted by insurance billing requirements.
What is integrative primary care?
Integrative primary care combines conventional medical care with wellness-focused prevention, lifestyle support, patient-centered decision-making, and evidence-informed complementary approaches when appropriate.
Is this functional medicine?
Driftless Health may use functional medicine-informed thinking when appropriate, such as looking at broader contributors to health. However, the practice should be described as integrative primary care and wellness rather than solely as a functional medicine clinic.
Do you prescribe medications?
Medication prescribing may be part of care when clinically appropriate and within the practice scope.
Do you order labs?
Appropriate laboratory evaluation may be recommended based on the patient’s health history, symptoms, goals, and clinical needs.
Are visits virtual or in person?
This should be finalized based on the practice model. The site should support language for in-person and/or virtual options depending on visit type and applicable regulations.
Do you offer sports physicals?
The site should include sports physicals as a service option for students, athletes, and families, with clear instructions about required forms and eligibility.
Do you offer DOT physicals?
The site should include DOT physicals as a service option with clear instructions about required forms, documentation, and certification limitations.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Some services may be eligible depending on the patient’s plan. Patients should confirm with their HSA/FSA administrator.
Do you provide superbills?
This depends on the final billing model. Suggested language: superbills may be available for eligible services, but reimbursement is not guaranteed.
What is not appropriate for Driftless Health?
Emergency symptoms, hospital-level care, or conditions requiring urgent specialty evaluation should be directed to appropriate urgent/emergency/specialty care.
